An elderly man from Minas Gerais was manipulated for three months by someone posing as . Convinced that he was in a long-distance relationship with the actress, he made transfers that exceeded R$30,000 until he realized he was facing a scam. This case has reignited discussions about the ease with which criminals appropriate the image of public figures to create seductive stories, supported by real photos, carefully planned dialogues and the promise of an impossible romance.

The influencer discovered that a criminal used photos and videos taken from his own social networks to maintain a virtual relationship with an elderly man for almost a year. The scammer imitated the content creator’s routine and updated the fake profile with her real materials. When commenting on the case, Ju highlighted that it was not the first time that his image was used irregularly by unknown people.
Brad Pitt
The American actor was also the target of an international scam that drew attention due to the amount involved: a woman in France believed she was having a virtual relationship with him and ended up losing around 850 thousand dollars. Pitt’s team reiterated that the star does not have social media and warned the public about fake profiles.

Another name widely exploited by criminals is Keanu Reeves. In the United States, a woman claimed to have lost approximately 160 thousand dollars after being deceived by someone who sent photos and even videos manipulated to impersonate the actor. Reeves’ team, on other occasions, has already reported that he rarely talks directly to fans online.

The Brazilian model had her image used in one of the longest scams ever recorded. For around 15 years, scammers convinced Italian player Roberto Cazzaniga that he was in a relationship with her. During this period, he transferred around 700 thousand euros to the criminal group. At the end of the investigation, it was proven that the model never had any connection with the story.

In 2022, an appliance technician was deceived by a fake profile of the singer. He believed he was talking to a supposed Simone Mendes and even separated from his wife because of the emotional involvement created by the hoax. “She proposed that I be her lover”, the man told TV Record about the content of the messages he received.
