Meeting will be held between 3pm and 5pm; STF minister orders ex-president’s defense to specify which children intend to visit him
The minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes authorized the visit of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the Regional Superintendency of the Federal Police, in Brasília, this Sunday (23.nov.2025). the visit is authorized between 15h e 17h. Bolsonaro’s defense had filed a request for a visit on Friday afternoon (Nov 22) for “defendant’s wife and children.” The lawyers did not specify the names of the children who intend to visit. Moraes wrote that such a measure is “necessary to register”, and that the defense must “complete the order”.
Bolsonaro was preventively arrested this Saturday morning (Nov 22, 2025). The order was from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court). In the decision, he said that the former chief executive tried to break the electronic ankle bracelet and that such an act indicates an escape attempt. Here is it (PDF – 295 kB).
According to Moraes’ decision, the former president will receive medical care “full time” e “on duty” at the Federal Police Superintendence, in Brasília, where he is preventively detained in a special room. In other words, health professionals do not need prior authorization from the Court to access the place. To date, Bolsonaro has already received doctor Marina Grazziotin Pasolini.
Other visits must be approved in advance by the STF. The exception is Bolsonaro’s lawyers who are already participating in the process, after a power of attorney in the files.
Bolsonaro’s arrest is precautionary. In other words, the determination is not to begin serving the sentence of 27 years and 3 months in prison for conviction in the attempted coup d’état case. He had been under house arrest in Brasília since August 4th.
A video and a , released by the STF, state that the former president tried to open his electronic ankle bracelet using a soldering iron. According to the document, the escort team positioned near the former president’s residence, in the Solar de Brasília condominium, was called immediately after the attempt to damage the object, as was the management of the unit. The criminal police made contact with Bolsonaro and asked him to present himself to have his ankle bracelet checked. Cime’s deputy director went to the site for an in-person analysis.
Upon examining the anklet, the director identified burn marks around the entire structure, especially in the closure area. When questioned, Bolsonaro stated that he had used a soldering iron to try to open the equipment.

In front of the Superintendency there were protests, discussions and demonstrations by supporters and government supporters.
The movement even included a trumpet and champagne celebration, showing the polarized and tense atmosphere surrounding the episode.
