Four months after having pancreatic cancer removed, he commented on how his days have been: “The main thing is for us to always think positive, which, of course, in the beginning there is still a little pain, I have to eat differently, there are a series of difficulties, but we need to see these as small obstacles that we must overcome every day, without complaining about anything, thinking positive, because tomorrow could be better than today”.
The celebrity also spoke about how his body reacted to getting into the car after so long: “Before yesterday, when I got into the car, I felt a little hot, I have pain all over my body, but it’s normal, it’s part of this return. The car is very hot. Today is also a hot day; we should measure 62, 63 degrees inside the car today. The biggest challenge I’ll have today is this, finishing the race.”
Regarding dietary restrictions, he explained: “I can’t eat gluten, lactose, fat, fried foods, sugar, grains, a series of things. Within that, I have to do my best to improve.” Edu said that he disobeyed medical advice: “For the race, a month ago, I made a good leap forward in terms of recovery. When you move this type of organ and this type of surgery that is so serious, it often takes a while to recover the breath we had before. Physically, it took me a little longer than I imagined.”
“The doctor had told me to only return in May or June of next year, and I didn’t listen (laughs). I have to complete the race. I need to do at least 40 laps, it’s a lot for someone returning”, said the gastronomic personality. The next steps of treatment include periodic exams: “I have to have exams every three months to check if everything is ok. I recently stopped taking the medications I was taking. I had a problem with my blood, I needed to take medication to thin my blood and, this month, I stopped everything. Thank God!”
