The US Embassy published a statement criticizing the decision of the US minister, who ordered the former president’s preventive detention this Saturday (22).

In the text, the diplomatic representation states that “Moraes, a judge sanctioned for human rights violations, exposed the Federal Supreme Court to international embarrassment and wear and tear by ignoring traditional principles of judicial self-restraint and by explicitly politicizing the progress of the process.”
