President gets angry because of the translation headset and the interpreter’s low tone of voice: “Speak louder, man”

The president (PT) was irritated with the translator responsible for accompanying him while he spoke at the G20 summit, in Johannesburg, South Africa, this Sunday (Nov 23, 2025). After criticizing the headset used to listen to the translation, the PT member complained about the interpreter’s low tone of voice: “Just whispering in my ear to Janja”.

Lula also said that the professional should approach the journalist who asked the question to make the work easier: “You’re translating just for you. Be loud, man.”

After the confusion, the translator reproduced the reporter’s speech from English to Portuguese into the microphone. The question asked was about the and its consequences for the next meetings.
