and this Sunday guaranteed their presence in the Brazilian football elite in 2026. The three teams join the Serie B champion, , the only team that had already secured access. In the 38th and final round of the competition, the team from Paraná secured their third championship, beating the already relegated team 2-1 and reaching 68 points. This Sunday’s games also determined Ferroviária as fourth relegated to Series C.
Athletico-PR was the only team with a chance of taking the title from Coritiba. They needed to beat América-MG at Arena da Baixada and hope for the defeat of their state rival. The team did its part and scored 1-0, with a goal from João Cruz, and finished with 65 points. Coritiba, however, reached its 19th victory in the championship with goals from Sebastian Gomez and Iury Castilho and Luan Silva, for Amazonas, in.
Chapecoense started the last round in fifth place, but finished third, with 62 points, after beating Atlético-GO 1-0 at Arena Condá, thanks to a goal by Walter Clar, from a penalty, in the 45th minute of the first half. The fourth and final place went to Remo, who returned to the Brazilian elite after 31 years with a 2-1 comeback victory over Goiás, at Mangueirão.
Against an opponent who was also fighting for access, Remo were surprised at the beginning of the game, in the 7th minute, with a goal from Lepu. The Belém team, however, managed to equalize in the first half, with Pedro Rocha, at 49. The 31-year-old striker scored his 15th goal at the top of the Serie B artillery. The turning point came in the 18th minute of the second half, with João Pedro after an assist from Pedro Rocha.
The goal came shortly after the Mangueirão fans cheered with the goal conceded by Criciúma at Arena Pantanal. The Santa Catarina team lost to Cuiabá 1-0, with a goal from David Miguel in the 12th minute of the second half. The visitors needed at least a draw, but they played with one less since the 24th minute of the first half, when Filipinho was sent off.
João Pedro scored again for Remo in the 40th minute of the second half to celebrate at Mangueirão. The team from Pará ended the campaign with the same 62 points as Chapecoense, but with a worse goal difference (17 to 12). Criciúma and Goiás finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively, both with 61 points.
At the bottom of the table, three teams fought to escape the last relegation spot. Ferroviária lost to Operário-PR 2-1 at the Germano Krüger stadium, in Ponta Grossa (PR). The team from the interior of São Paulo needed to win and hope that Athletic-MG or Botafogo-SP didn’t win their duels. Ferroviária took the lead, with Netinho making it 1-0 in the 8th minute of the first half, but tied in the 33rd minute of the second half, with Dudu Moscovi, and the turnaround in the 51st minute with Leo Gaúcho.
If they had sustained the victory, Ferroviária would have remained in Série B as Botafogo-SP drew goalless with Avaí. Athletic-MG beat last placed Paysandu 2-1 and remained in Series B in its first season in the national competition. Ferroviária joins Volta Redonda, Amazonas and Paysandu and competes in Series C in 2026.
