Cibulková showed her son Jakubek in full commitment: Will he follow in his mother’s footsteps? VIDEO

Former tennis player Dominika Navara Cibulková was the first Slovak to reach the final of the Australian Open 2014 in women’s singles. In the same year, thanks to her performances, she climbed to the 6th place in the WTA world rankings, which is her career-highest ranking.

Behind her triumphs lies hard work, when she trained several hours a day and had to adapt her whole life to tennis. At the end of 2019, she decided to end her professional tennis career and devote yourself fully to your private life. She started a family with her husband Michal Navar. Their son Jakubko was born on June 14, 2020, and their daughter Ninka was welcomed into the world on March 19, 2023.

It is possible that her first-born son will follow in her footsteps. This is also confirmed by the VIDEO that Cibulková published on her Instagram. You can find it at the beginning of the article. “JN (Jakub Navara, editor’s note) has been going to children’s tennis for the second year,” she addressed her 5-year-old son, whom she praised during training. She attends the tennis academy Love4Tennis – Dominika Cibulkova Academy, which is one of the best academies in Europe.

Thus, the preschooler has all the appropriate conditions to apply himself on the tennis court. His mother did not have a similar chance, as she admitted in the Off Record podcast with musician Teri Čikoš. She described for the portal the beginnings of her career, which began at the age of 8, when they organized a tennis recruitment in her estate.

Initially, she did not have big goals. “That’s how it turned out. I grabbed a racket and started training. I was always the smallest, so I had a handicap in that, but I was good with movement and I enjoyed it“, she remembered the old times, which are very valuable to her.

However, she fell in love with tennis very quickly and she was not alone. “We gradually got into it, me and my parents, who sacrificed a lot for it. Ocino stopped going to work when I was 10-11 years old. All our family finances went into it,” she admitted. She constantly had to fight with the fact that she was underestimated. “I had to work hard for everything and that mentality too,” added.
