Carlos ColeCEO of Mais Brasil, the company that operates Nascar Brasil, analyzed Ayrton Senna’s career and recalled the Brazilian idol’s routine during his karting days.
During the CNN Esportes S/A This Sunday (23), the former driver reflected on the world champion’s success and highlighted the detail-oriented identity that Senna always conveyed.
Col recalled the period in which he accompanied his idol in karting. According to him, Senna’s dedication was evident from an early age.
Senna was extremely detailed and dedicated. I think his success, obviously added to his natural talent, was all his dedication, his determination.
The leader described episodes that marked this phase.
“For example, he was practicing a certain approach in the curves. To get it right, he would make mistakes 9, 10, 12 times until he got it right. He would make his attempt, spin, go to the grass, put the kart back on the track alone, make it start and go again and try again”, he recalled.
Col stated that the persistent behavior attracted attention behind the scenes.
People who were looking closely said: ‘Wow, this boy has something different, special, because he is very insistent’. And that was until he learned, until he mastered the practice and that technique and that’s how he did it with different things.
“Distinguished boy”
The former driver explained that Senna was also involved with technical aspects of karting.
“He himself adjusted his own kart, he understood the mechanics, he understood the setup. Although a kart seems very simple in terms of adjustment, it has all its tricks, and he was always there on top of the kart, on the stand”, he said.
According to Col, even so, it was not possible to predict the impact that Senna would have on the sport.
We only understood that he was a different boy, but it never crossed our minds that he would get to where he is.
During the program, the CEO explained the choice of Brasília for the final and revealed which new tracks will debut on the .
Carlos also talked about how Nascar is training new Brazilian drivers, reflecting on and commenting on expectations for names like Gabriel Bortoleto and Felipe Drugovich.
