Memphis Depay will miss Corinthians in the duel against Cruzeiro this Sunday (23/11), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), at Mineirão. The player is suffering his sixth injury this year, which keeps him away from the team.
Why is Memphis Depay out against Cruzeiro?
Memphis is out with a knee sprain. The new injury occurred during the classic against São Paulo, on Thursday, according to the club. In the match, Memphis started on the bench because he was worn out on the trip to defend the Netherlands team in the qualifiers, he came on in the second half and scored a great goal, the second of Corinthians’ 3-1 victory.
The Corinthians note states that Memphis underwent imaging tests that showed bone edema.

When does Memphis Depay return?
The club did not provide an expected return date. There are four games left until the end of the Brazilian Championship, and the team begins the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil, against Cruzeiro, on December 10th.
Memphis’ last two injuries, both muscular injuries to his right thigh, were the ones that took the attacker off the field for the longest time. In August, there were 21 days of recovery; then, between September and October, another 25 days.
