At the beginning of November, the STJ defined that the regulation of discount cards is the responsibility of the ANS. According to Damous, he suggested to the rapporteur of the project that reforms the Health Plans Law, to reproduce in his opinion the proposal that the ANS regulate these products.

Damous says that regulation may require the hiring of employees, amid a scenario in which the agency’s budget has remained practically unchanged since 2010, considering the effect of inflation in the period.
Because of this and the contingencies suffered by ANS, he met with the president of , (União Brasil-AP), to ask that the resources be free from budget restrictions. According to Damous, the senator committed to working to make this happen.
