Reports are submitted anonymously in any EU language and may be supported by relevant documents
The European Commission has launched a reporting mechanism that will provide a channel for anonymous reporting of suspected violations of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act.
Complaints, the community executive said in a statement, will be made directly to the European Union’s (EU) European AI Office, the Commission’s center of AI expertise.
The AI Law whistleblower tool is a secure channel established by the European AI Office for individuals who wish to anonymously report potential violations of the rules, thus contributing to the safe and transparent development of technologies.
Reports are submitted anonymously in any EU language and can be supported by relevant documents, both at the time of initial submission and during two-way communication with the AI Office via a secure inbox.
The AI Law aims to promote innovation and adoption of AI in the EU, while addressing potential risks to people’s health, safety and fundamental rights, and safeguarding democracy and the rule of law.
“By reporting information about violations, whistleblowers can support the Office in their early detection, thus contributing to the safe and transparent development of AI technologies”, the statement also states.
