Minister Flávio Dino, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered this Sunday (23) that the Federal Police open an investigation to investigate the possible participation of federal deputy Zezinho Barbary (PP-AC) in misappropriation of resources arising from parliamentary amendments. The decision also involves deputy Pedro Lucas Fernandes (União-MA).

The determination was made after three organizations — Associação Contas Abertas, Transparência Brasil and Transparência Internacional — presented information to the STF that indicated signs of a lack of transparency and traceability in the use of these funds. The entities are part of the process that discusses the control of parliamentary amendments.
According to the material sent to the Supreme Court, recent press reports raised suspicions of irregular use of resources destined for municipalities in four states: Arari (MA), Zabelê (PB), Tartarugalzinho (AP) and Porto Walter (AC).
In the Acre case, information indicates that Zezinho Barbary had directed amendment resources to benefit people from his own family in Porto Walter. The funds would have been used to regularize illegally opened roads within indigenous lands, in violation of environmental legislation. The report cited by the entities is from Folha de S. Paulo.

In addition to Barbary, the document also mentions the participation of former deputy Flaviano Melo (MDB-AC) in the same episode. Other former parliamentarians appear in the complaint in cases from other states, such as Edna Henrique (Republicanos-PB), linked to alleged fraud in Zabelê.
When analyzing the material, Flávio Dino stated that there are enough elements to justify immediate referral to the Federal Police. In his decision, the minister determined:
“In view of the reported facts — which constitute signs of possible crimes — the document should be forwarded to the General Directorate of the PF, so that it can adopt the appropriate measures within the scope of its competence, promoting the joining of investigations already opened or proceeding with the opening of new ones, if applicable.”
With the order, it is now up to the PF to evaluate the documents presented, investigate signs of illegality and decide whether the information will be attached to existing investigations or whether new investigations should be opened.
O ContilNet He sought out deputy Zezinho Barbary to get his version of the case, but he did not provide answers until the report was finished. The space remains open for clarifications.
