Forget about scraping your car windows in the morning. This will prevent freezing

Winter cold is making itself felt again, and the first frost means one thing – frozen windows. Instead of wasting time on scraping in the morning, you can prepare your car the night before and avoid the hassle.

When the temperature drops below zero, moisture settling on the glass immediately freezes. Effect? Morning dance with a defroster and a scraperwhich can last up to several minutes. Meanwhile, there is a method that fully eliminates this problem – an anti-frost cover. It is a thin mat mounted on the windshield that blocks cold air and moisture. Thanks to this, you will not find any ice or frost on the glass in the morning. What’s more, such a product works not only in winter. In summer, it protects the car from overheating, so the cabin does not resemble a sauna.

Many people try to replace a professional cover… cardboard or old cardboard. But that’s it big mistake. Due to humidity and low temperature, the paper sticks to the glass, and in the morning, instead of comfort, you will have to tug and try to tear off the wet cardboard. Such actions may scratch the glass or even damage it. If you want to save yourself some nerves, give up on makeshift substitutes. A well-selected anti-frost mat provides risk-free protection and looks aesthetically pleasing.

You will find many types of covers in supermarkets and automotive stores, and the simplest ones are expensive about PLN 10-15. It’s a small investment that can really change a driver’s winter routine. When choosing a mat, pay attention to:

• size — should cover the entire surface of the glass,
• assembly method — the apparently sword models with valves contributions to the door,
• additional elements — e.g. covers for side mirrors that protect them against freezing.

The cheapest, rectangular models may not cope with the windows of larger cars, so sometimes it is better to pay a few zlotys extra and buy a variant tailored to a specific type of vehicle.
