Governor Gladson Cameli and the president of Deracre, Sula Ximenes, participated this Sunday (23) in a symbolic moment for Xapuri, the delivery of the Jamil Félix Bestene Bridge, known as the Siberia Bridge.
Side by side, they walked over the newly opened structure, celebrating the completion of a project that had been awaited for more than 30 years by the local population. Carrying the Acre flag, Gladson celebrated the unprecedented moment for the municipality.

In an interview, Cameli highlighted the importance of the work for the development and integration of Acre. “Today we deliver more than a bridge, we deliver dignity, mobility and the right to come and go for thousands of people. It is a historic landmark that unites regions and brings communities together. This is the realization of a dream that spans generations”, stated the governor, also highlighting the work of the government team and the support of the federal bench and local mayors.
Sula Ximenes also commented on the emotion of participating in the moment and the official delivery of the bridge. “For me, it is very gratifying to see the result of so much work. Every meter of this bridge represents safety, comfort and development for the people of Xapuri. We are delivering a project that will change the population’s routine and reinforce integration between the regions of Acre”, said the president of Deracre.
The bridge, built in concrete, is 389 meters long and was completed with a total investment of R$47.6 million, of which R$30.9 million was from the state government’s own resources and R$16.6 million from a parliamentary amendment by senator Márcio Bittar. In addition to the crossing, the project included paving, a drainage network, signage and a roundabout to organize traffic, ensuring greater safety and trafficability.
The symbolic crossing by the governor and president of Deracre marked the beginning of the gradual operation of the bridge, which will be opened to light, medium and heavy vehicles over the next three weeks.
