The volleyball player Julia Azevedoopposite Tijuca Tênis Clube, was Shot during an attempted robbery on Sunday night (23/11), close to the club, at the intersection between Rua Conde de Bonfim and Henry Ford.
The athlete was in the car next to her father when she was shot in the back. She was taken to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, but has already been discharged, is recovering at home and is doing well. THE Sporting News shows more details about Júlia’s career.

Who is Júlia Azevedo?
Júlia Rocha Marques de Azevedo, was born in 1997. Standing at around 1.80 m, she built her career from the youth teams of the Tijuca club itself and has also played outside the country throughout her career.
– The projectile entered my back, but, thank God, it didn’t hit my spinal cord, it passed 1mm from my spine and didn’t pierce any organ, passing less than 1cm from my bladder, but it left without causing any major damage. For very little, my story could have been different – the player wrote on social media.
