The minister of Alexandre de Moraes allowed the former president’s children visit him at the Superintendence of of the Federal District, where he has been preventively detained since Saturday (22).
According to a decision published this Sunday (23), Rio de Janeiro councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL), senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and Renan Bolsonaro must make the visits separately, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes each.
Carlos and Flávio Bolsonaro will be able to visit their father next Tuesday (25), between 9am and 11am. Renan Bolsonaro, on Thursday (27), also between 9am and 11am.
The minister allowed visits from lawyers and the medical team and gave guidelines for the PF’s conduct in case of any medical complications. Among the guidelines is the activation of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), identified as a more agile and safe option.
This Sunday, Bolsonaro received a visit from former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro.
Preventive detention
Bolsonaro was preventively arrested by the Federal Police (PF), this Saturday, following Moraes’ order. In the decision, the STF minister cited a possible risk of escape due to Bolsonaro’s attempt to violate the electronic ankle monitor and the vigil called by his son, senator Flávio Bolsonaro, near the house where the former president was under house arrest, which could make it easier for him to leave the place.
On Friday (21), the day before his arrest, the former president used welding to try to open the electronic ankle bracelet, which generated an alert to the State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration of the Federal District (Seap), responsible for monitoring the equipment. Conviction
Sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison in the coup plot, Bolsonaro and the other defendants could have their sentences carried out in the coming weeks.
Last week, the First Panel of the Court rejected the so-called embargoes for declaration by the former president and six other defendants to reverse the convictions and avoid the execution of sentences in a closed regime.
