They have no idea what it is orchitis (inflammation of the testicle) or epididimite (inflammation of the canal that transports and stores sperm).

These are the main conclusions of the survey “Attitudes towards male fertility”, carried out by GFK: more than 40% of men admit that never heard of these diseases.
Samuel Ribeiro, a specialist in reproductive medicine, recalls that women are monitored from an early age (with gynecology consultations, screenings and awareness campaigns). “You need to create specific routines and campaigns for them”, suggests the clinical director of IVI Lisboa, in a statement sent to ZAP.
In Portugal, almost no men go to preventive consultations; awareness campaigns are specific – and focused on prostate and testicular cancer.
What is there is “manifestly insufficient. It is necessary to reinforce prevention and education in men’s health throughout the year”, adds the specialist.
According to the survey, lack of knowledge reaches men of all agesespecially between the ages of 40 and 50, when the information deficit becomes more evident.
