French authorities have seized five luxury apartments belonging to Armando Pereira, one of the founders of the Altice group. FState-of-the-art vehicles, works of art and thousands of euros in cash were also seized.
More than 70 investigators participated in the searches carried out around a week ago in several regions of France with the collaboration of the Portuguese authorities. The searches were monitored remotely by prosecutor Rosário Teixeira and on site by .
At issue is the deviation of around 250 million euros from Altice. O now reveals that they were pawned five luxury apartments that belong to Armando Pereiraone of the founders of the telecommunications group.
Furthermore, they were also fundamental documents seized for the investigationctop-of-the-range cars, bank accounts and around 600 thousand euros in cash.
One of the apartments was purchased through an offshore company and was decorated with several works of art that were also seized.
All these luxury goods are valued at more than 14 million euros. The French investigation was opened following the which has been investigating for five years an alleged corruption scheme that reportedly damaged public coffers and Altice itself by hundreds of millions of euros.
Armando Pereira he was arrested in July 2023, but it came out freedom after paying a deposit of 10 million euros.
