US President Donald Trump says he and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet again soon, after accepting the Chinese leader’s invitation to visit Beijing in April

The president of the USA, , stated that he and the president of , will meet again soon, after accepting the Chinese leader’s invitation to visit Beijing in April and announcing that he invited the Asian power’s counterpart for a state visit later in 2026. In a publication in Truth Social, Trump said he had “a very good phone call” with Xi, in which the two agreed that “it is important that we communicate frequently”.

Trump reported having addressed topics such as the war between and , fentanyl, soybeans and other agricultural products. The American president stated that the two countries signed a “good” agreement, important for American farmers and that “it will only get better”, highlighting that the bilateral relationship is “extremely strong”.

The call was an offshoot of the “highly successful” meeting they held in South Korea three weeks earlier, Trump said. According to him, since then there has been “significant progress on both sides” in keeping the agreements up to date and accurate. “Now we can look at the bigger picture,” he said when announcing the meetings.

The publication occurs on the same day that Beijing officially reported on the conversation between the two leaders, highlighting that bilateral relations remain “stable and on a path of improvement” after last month’s meeting in Busan.
