Two trams collided in the West district of Košice on Monday. At least six people were injured. TASR was informed about this by the spokesman of the Regional Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) in Košice, Jozef Bálint. All elements of the rescue system intervene on the spot. The Košice Regional Police informs on the social network that the collision took place in the SNP Classroom.
According to the findings so far, one tram was standing at a red light when the rear of it was hit by another. There was no derailment. “According to initial information, there were a total of approximately 40 passengers in the trams. Six people suffered injuries of unknown extent,” the police report. According to the firefighters, the injuries should be minor.
