The director general of the Federal Police (PF), Andrei Rodrigues, stated that Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates financial fraud involving Banco Master, made progress “thanks to cooperation and integration with the Central Bank of Brazil”.
According to him, there was “absolute harmony and alignment of interests” between the PF and the BC. In an interview with the Canal Livre program, from BandRodrigues recalled that, on the day the operation was launched, the Central Bank liquidated the financial institution.
“President Galípolo has done very intense control and inspection work, a great partnership with the Federal Police”, praised the head of the PF. Citing other operations, such as Carbono Oculto, in partnership with the Federal Revenue Service, and combating fraud at the INSS, with the General Comptroller of the Union, he said that this is the path that the agency defends to combat organized crime.

He said that the PF investigation began with monitoring the current management of the Central Bank, under President Gabriel Galípolo, with regulatory and inspection activities, which identified situations that indicated the possibility of crimes occurring.
“From minute 1 there was already this connection between the Central Bank and the Federal Police, because from the entry of the inspection, from the controls that were carried out, there were indications that it was not a mere irregularity, an anomaly”, he reported. Rodrigues stated that it is not up to the Federal Police to make the first filter of what is a market business and what is a crime. “The moment signs of crime are identified, and this was identified by the Central Bank, then it is communicated to us and we act as the Judiciary Police of the Union that we are”, he said.
The operation was launched last week and resulted in the arrest of executives such as banker Daniel Vorcaro – intercepted and arrested by federal agents on the night of Monday, 17th, when he tried to board his private jet at Guarulhos Airport heading to Dubai – who remains detained on a preventive basis, with no end date.
