Eleven volunteer firefighters from Fundão, Castelo Branco district, were arrested this Tuesday by the PJ on suspicion of two crimes of rape and one of sexual coercionof which another firefighter was the victim, as a matter of course.
The Judiciary Police revealed that, through the Criminal Investigation Department of Guarda and in conjunction with the Board of the PJ Center, it arrested, outside of the act, 11 volunteer members of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Fundão, on the strong suspicion of having committed these crimes. on two separate occasions and within the barracks Fundão and Soalheira.
The episodes occurred around two months ago, according to , and a few days apart. The 11 detainees allegedly inserted fingers into the victim’s anus, forcing her to masturbate while they filmed the situation, according to the newspaper.

The commander of the Fundão Volunteer Firefighters, José Sousa, said this Tuesday that the detained firefighters will be the target of a process of internal investigation. “Internally, what is being done at the moment is an investigation process. We are going to find out if there is reason for disciplinary action. Externally, the competent authorities are listening to those involved”, he explained to Lusa.
The commander also said that the result of the police investigation will be linked to the internal due diligence process carried out on members of the corporation.
Asked whether the suspects will remain active, José Sousa stressed that, “at this moment, there is no reason to suspend them, our process [interno] will drink a lot from the conclusions of the police investigation”, said the person in charge.
