Five centimeters (cm) of snow may fall in the Slovak capital by Wednesday morning. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) has issued a level 1 warning for Bratislava, valid until Wednesday 10:00 a.m.
A snow warning in the north will also be in effect from midnight. In the entire Žilina region, but also in the districts of Považská Bystrica and Púchov in the Trenčín region and Poprad in the Prešov region ten to 20 cm of snow may fall by Wednesday afternoon.
In the Banská Bystrica region, and parts of the Košice and Nitra regions a warning against intense precipitation is valid until Tuesday afternoon, a flood warning from melting snow and rain is also valid in the same area. For the districts of Prievidza, Zlaté Moravce and Košice-okolie, the SHMÚ was announced heightened level 2 alert.
