Explosion at Ministry of Racial Equality substation leaves 30 injured in Brasília

An explosion that occurred at the energy substation of the Ministry of Racial Equality, in Brasília, left at least 30 people injured this Tuesday morning (25). Initial information was released by Itatiaia.

Initial information indicates that one of the victims suffered burns to approximately 60% of his body, while two others suffered smoke poisoning. All were taken to hospital.

In addition to these more serious cases, another 27 people required medical assistance after inhaling smoke during the incident. The building was evacuated by the Federal District Military Fire Department (CBMDF), which remains in the area, screening and distributing the victims among the health units according to each one’s situation.

Teams are still at the scene evaluating the structure and monitoring possible new occurrences after the fire caused by the explosion. The Ministry has not yet released additional information about the impact on the agency’s operations or the cause of the incident.
