The president of CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the INSS (National Social Security Institute)senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), stated that he will put on the agenda, in the session on Thursday (27), the request to summon the attorney general of the Union, Jorge Messias.

In a meeting held on Tuesday (18), deputies defended that the AGU clarifies suspicions of an alleged shielding, in 2024, of requests for judicial blocks from Sindnapi-FS (National Union of Retirees, Pensioners and Elderly of Força Sindical).

On the occasion, the CPMI rapporteur, Alfredo Gaspar (União-AL), stated that it is “prudent” to listen to Messias and said that the summons is necessary to avoid “prevarication” by the commission itself.

He highlighted that the attorney general is “a character who is about to go to the Supreme Court”. Deputy opposition leaders, such as Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ) and Evair de Melo (PP-ES), reinforced the request.

Jordy stated that Messias needs to be “examined” in the commission and said he wanted to understand why he “didn’t do anything” in the face of the suspicions and only acted after the launch of Operation Without Discount.

In the Senate, the opposition leader, Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), also accused the AGU of “malfeasance” and said he will represent the case to be investigated by the competent bodies.

Members of the allied base reacted and stated that there is a “campaign” against the nominee for the STF.

“They came here to offend Jorge Messias”, said deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG), who refuted the opposition’s accusations.
