This has never happened before. Austria is in the final of the World Cup. With a 2-0 win against Italy, the red-white-red U17s moved into the final in Doha. On Thursday (5 p.m., live ORF1, Sky and in the STANDARD ticker) the title will be against Portugal. The fact that it could come to this is primarily due to the collective performance of coach Hermann Stadler’s team. And yet one player in particular stands out: Johannes Moser. The 17-year-old from Carinthia scored both goals against Squadra Azzurra and is the top scorer in the World Cup with eight goals. He has a good chance of being named the best player of the tournament.
