Leftists win Italian regional elections in the south, Lega wins in Veneto


Rome – The elections in three Italian regions – Veneto, Campania and Apulia – to which around 13 million voters were called on Sunday and Monday, ended with two victories for the left-wing opposition forces. The center-right candidate Alberto Stefani prevailed in the regional elections in Veneto, northern Italy, receiving 63.1 percent of the vote, according to preliminary results on Monday evening.
