The head of the Polish presidential office for international policy, Marcin Przydacz, said on Tuesday that President Karol Nawrocki has no confidence in any agreements that Russian President Vladimir Putin should sign.
President Karol Nawrocki has no confidence in any agreements that Russian President Vladimir Putin should sign, said Marcin Przydacz, head of the presidential office for international policy, on Tuesday. He added that there has been no direct communication between the presidents of the USA and Poland about the plan for peace negotiations between the United States and Ukraine. This is reported by the Warsaw correspondent TASR, according to the PAP agency.
- President Karol Nawrocki does not trust the agreements signed by Vladimir Putin.
- So far, there has been no direct communication between the presidents of the USA and Poland.
- Poland emphasizes the necessity of Ukraine’s participation in peace negotiations.
- The peace plan for Ukraine was reduced to 19 points.
Nawrocki and Trump have yet to communicate
“At this stage, the conversation between the presidents has not yet taken place,” Przydacz answered on Polsat News TV when asked if US President Donald Trump had contacted Karol Nawrocki in connection with negotiations on the US peace plan for Ukraine. However, he emphasized that the Polish president does not have an iota of confidence in the agreements that Vladimir Putin should sign, because, according to him, Russia does not comply with any obligations.
Przydacz added that, according to the president, it is impossible to make decisions about the future of Ukraine without its direct involvement in the discussion. At the same time, he admitted that the absence of the Polish representative at Sunday’s talks in Geneva on the future of Central Europe is not optimal from the point of view of Polish interests, but according to him, the government should bear responsibility for it.
The head of the office also said that in recent months the president has been systematically deprived of most tools in the field of foreign policy. “Then when a problem arises, the question arises as to why the president didn’t do this or that,” he noted.
Peace plan
Last week, the US President’s administration presented Ukraine with a draft peace plan with 28 points, which was supposed to be adopted by November 27 at the latest. European leaders subsequently presented their own version of the proposal, which should contain security guarantees similar to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
The Financial Times reported on Monday that the plan was reduced from 28 to 19 points during the negotiations in Geneva, and the most politically sensitive issues and controversial points – including territorial issues and relations between NATO, Russia and the US – were left to the decision of the presidents of both countries: Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
