With the officialization delayed in relation to the deadlines announced by its leaders, the federation of and , had to overcome an unusual obstacle last week.
The Brasília registry office where the minutes of the meeting that approved the alliance were recorded rejected the document sent by the PP, as it listed its members by their ballot box surnames, and not their registered names.
Two examples were (MA), Minister of Sports, and federal deputy Dudu da Fonte (PE). Due to the error, the documentation had to be completely redone, including collecting signatures from everyone involved.
The party’s general secretary, Aldo Rosa, was in Santa Catarina, where the documentation had to be sent before returning to Brasília.
The corrected minutes were delivered on Wednesday (19) to the registry office in Brasília, which has 15 working days to analyze the documentation. If the registry office does not speed up the service, the process should only be completed in the second week of December.
After that, it will be possible to make the federation official at the Superior Electoral Court. There are frictions, however, that are already creating tension in the federation that has not officially been born yet.
After (PI), president of the PP, said that the only viable presidential candidates for the opposition would be Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP) and Ratinho Junior (PSD-PR), the governor (União Brasil-GO), who intends to run for President, said that the senator has “personal interests” — referring to Ciro’s intention to be deputy to the governor of São Paulo.
Furthermore, the federation has differences regarding 2026 in different states.
The Progressive Union, if it comes to fruition, will have 109 deputies and 15 senators and will be the largest political force in Congress.
When contacted to address the problem with documentation, Ciro Nogueira did not respond.
