The Social Fund begins this Tuesday (25), in , the delivery of 200 vehicles destined for the Municipal Social Funds. The action marks the launch of the Equipping Program and represents an investment of R$20.6 million. This is the first initiative by the São Paulo government with exclusive distribution to these entities on such a scale.

The cars, cargo models with the capacity to transport up to 810 kilos, will be used to transport basic food baskets, blankets, clothes, utensils and other items essential to assistance actions. The measure should increase the efficiency of service, especially in rural locations and regions that are difficult to access.

The distribution considers technical criteria, prioritizing cities with a smaller population and reduced operational structure. The first delivery will be made in Borá, the smallest municipality in the state, with 907 inhabitants. Municipalities that are not included in this phase may be covered in future stages of the program.

Created to strengthen municipal Social Funds, the Equipping Program seeks to improve social assistance actions, reinforce food security initiatives and support professional qualification projects, in addition to intensifying technical monitoring and integration with local administrations.
