Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) filed a proposal to cancel the default judgment in the dispute with a group of policemen called Čurillovci. He also demands the cancellation of the execution. Denník N. Spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior Matej Neumann confirmed for TASR that “Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok used all available legal means in this matter in accordance with the applicable legislation”.
Minister of the Interior Šutaj Eštok lost the Čurillo court. He must publicly apologize to them for comparing him to the duly convicted Mikuláš Černák. He also has to pay a total of EUR 90,000 in compensation to six police officers, as well as legal costs and interest on late payment. On November 11, the lawyer of the police officers, Peter Kubina, informed about this on the social network.
According to him, Šutaj Eštok did not receive e-mail and thus the court lost “in absentia”. As Kubina added, the minister is currently under execution, and the executor has blocked the funds on his account for the payment of compensation.
The minister responded on the social network that he stands by his words. Due to his workload, he hardly uses the public administration portal. According to him, the court was not interested in his arguments. He also blames the judge for not trying to contact him otherwise.
