The Contemporary Theater Association announced on Monday during the ceremony in the Spišské theater in Spišská Nová Ves of the winners of the poll of the 28th year of the season’s theater awards – Dosky 2025. Award for the best production earned the title of Outcast according to memoirs Stefan Zweig from the production of the independent theater Slzy by Janko Borodáč operating in Prešov. The production was created under the director’s and author’s guidance Júlia Rázusová, who was also awarded the prize for the best director of the season.
Roman Poláčik took the plaque for the best male acting performance of the season for the character of Béranger in Eugén Ionesco’s play Rhinoceros directed by Júlia Rázusová in the Drama of the Slovak National Theater (SND). The best female performance was given by Táňa Pauhofová in the role of a French actress in the productionwhich was prepared by director Martin Čičvák based on Marguerite Durasova’s film drama Hiroshima, my love at the Arena Theater in Bratislava.
Overall three Boards awarded Leoš Janáček’s opera The Adventures of the Vixen Bystrouška staged at the SND Opera. The award goes to her for the best scenography, created by Volker Hintermeier, for the best Doska costume went to Tereza Kopecká. The critics awarded the prize for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater to Sláva Daubnerová for directing this magical opera.
Martin Husovsky converted his two nominations to the Board for the best incidental music in the production of Federico García Lorca’s Blood Wedding from the SND Drama production.
He won the prize for Extraordinary Achievement in Dance Theatre Michal Heriban for the choreography and dance performance in the production Ja som placebo, which was prepared by the One Breath Theatre. The plaque for Extraordinary Achievement in the Drama Theater belongs to the collective of creators of the Slovaks will come alive project. Anthem for the 21st century in the concept of Alžbeta Vrzguly a directed by Adam Dragun, Silvia Vollmann and Júlia Rázusová from the independent theater Uhol_92, Bratislava.
Doska awards have been awarded since 1996. They are awards for creative acts in the field of professional theater in Slovakia, in all genres: drama theater, opera, musical, puppet theater, ballet, contemporary dance. She determined the nominations and the winners professional theater community. Voted in the current year of the survey 42 theater critics. Awards were given for artistic performances that premiered in theaters in Slovakia in the period from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025. The award is a plate with a silver-plated label. The author of the design of the award is Aleš Votava, its implementation is by academic sculptor Tomáš Lupták.
