AeroFla: departure and operation times

Rio de Janeiro City Hall begins the special traffic and security operation at 2pm (Brasília time) to monitor Flamengo’s passage through the city before embarking towards Lima, where the club will compete in the Copa Libertadores final. Even with a tight schedule and little time between the Brasileirão and the trip to the Peruvian capital, the red and black delegation decided not to go abroad directly from Belo Horizonte, where they faced Atlético-MG, just to receive the support of the fans in Rio.

Flamengo Lima flight schedule

Boarding for Lima is scheduled for 19h this Wednesday, at Tom Jobim International Airport. Flamengo should arrive in Peru on Wednesday night, local time, with landing on Peruvian soil scheduled for the first few minutes of Thursday, Brasília time, in compliance with Conmebol’s requirements.

Meeting point for Flamengo fans

The crowd’s meeting point will be the Aroldo Melodia Terminalin Cidade Universitária. The measure was taken to avoid riots and possible improvised blockades along expressways. Authorities reinforce that fans should not gather on highways or outside the training center.

Operation of Rio City Hall

To ensure safety and fluidity in traffic, Rio City Hall set up a large-scale scheme. From 2pm onwards, Estrada do Galeão (towards Centro) and Ponte Velha will be closed, diverting all incoming and outgoing flows from Ilha do Governador to Ponte Nova until the public is completely dispersed. The delegation’s bus route will depart from Ninho do Urubu and follow the Yellow Line and Red Line to the Galeão Cargo Terminal, with no scheduled stops.

The operation will be monitored in real time by the COR-Rio Situation Room, which will use more than 260 cameras and drones, in integration with the Military Police, Municipal Guard, CET-Rio and other bodies. Mobi-Rio also reinforced the BRT lines that serve Fundão, such as 42 (Madureira x Galeão) and 90 (Gentileza x Fundão), to facilitate the movement of red and black people to the concentration point.
