At least two soldiers are shot near the White House

One person was detained by Washington police

At least two American National Guard officers were shot near the White House on Wednesday afternoon (26). According to the Washington Police Department, one person was arrested. Agents also stated that the situation has already been controlled and the area is safe. The White House press office reported that the incident had already been communicated. The Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristri Neom, expressed concern and said that authorities were cooperating with the demonstration.

On the social network Truth Social, the American president stated that the “animal” that shot the guards is “severely injured”, as are the two guards. Three other people were also injured and taken to hospitals, according to local emergency services. The official residence of the American president is in “lockdown”. Donald Trump is currently in Florida.

Several streets have already been isolated in the region and a perimeter has been set up. Flights to the American capital were suspended.
