Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the (Supreme Federal Court), authorized this Tuesday (25) that the former president receive special food
“I authorize its delivery by a person previously registered by the custodian’s defense and at the time set by , who must inspect and record what is delivered,” said Moraes in the order.
According to information from investigators, the request should present a certificate or some medical document stating that he needs special food.
Following this authorization, the Federal Police must inform the organization’s food supplier whether it is possible to provide Bolsonaro’s special meals.
If this is not feasible for the company, the PF will inform the Court, which must evaluate what will be done. There is still no definition as to whether, on visiting days, family members will be prohibited from taking food, but it is possible that in these cases it will be allowed.
This Tuesday (25), the senator (-RJ) stated that he had received information that the former president would be prohibited from receiving food from outside the superintendency.
According to Flávio, Bolsonaro’s diet is based on medical prescription and he needs to have a special diet because of his intestinal flow and the consequences of his surgeries.
“It seemed very strange to me that someone would have made this determination to go against the medication that is prescribed to avoid complications, he needs to be disciplined with this diet”, he said, upon leaving the visit to his father.
Flávio added that Bolsonaro was always concerned about the origin of food. The senator, however, did not say who he had received the information from.
This Tuesday, the minister decided to keep Bolsonaro detained there and also officially sentenced the former president to 27 years and 3 months in prison on charges of leading a .
Bolsonaro will be imprisoned at the PF in the so-called General Staff room, a space where he does not interact with other inmates and where there is greater comfort than in a prison. The current structure is a 12 m² room, with television, air conditioning, private bathroom and a desk.
Moraes also ordered a new custody hearing for Bolsonaro this Wednesday (26), at 2:30 pm, in the same building where he is being held.
The minister decided that the former president must receive full-time medical care, on duty, and that the medical team’s access to Bolsonaro must be guaranteed regardless of judicial authorization.
