Chinese robotaxis are coming to Europe

While robotaxi fleets have long been part of the street scene in China and the USA, Europe has so far been a blank spot on the autonomous driving map. That should now change. The Estonian ride-hailing provider Bolt, which also operates a taxi fleet in Austria, announced on Tuesday a far-reaching cooperation with the Chinese autonomy specialist Pony.ai. The goal: They want to bring level 4 autonomous driving technology – i.e. vehicles that drive under defined conditions without any human intervention – to the old continent.
