Opole Christmas Fair 2025. News and traditions
The Opole Market Square will warm up with a festive atmosphere full of novelties and traditions! This year you will try, among others: coffee brewed on hot sand, traditional Middle Eastern tea, Opole ciders and unique Christmas products from a local floristry studio. The food truck zone offers a Christmas menu, and for the youngest and those who feel young at heart, there will be crowded carousels: the new, larger Mill Wheel, the Venetian Carousel and Santa Claus Carousel. There will also be iconic windmills serving mulled wine and hot chocolate. As every year, the market square will be decorated with a Christmas tree several meters high, and next to it there will be a highlander’s hut with a fireplace, where you can warm yourself, taste regional delicacies and take a souvenir photo!
Opening of the Opole Christmas Fair on November 29
On Saturday, November 29, at 5:00 p.m., the Mayor of Opole will ceremonially light up the several-meter-high Christmas tree, officially opening it. The celebration will start early! The brass band will march from Plac Wolności to the Market Square, playing Christmas hits, and the “Gospel Family” choir conducted by Katarzyna Puma Piasecka will perform on stage in the “Our Holidays” concert. Every weekend of the Fair is a guarantee of Christmas entertainment! Concerts, theater performances and other attractions await you, including a colorful parade and the Santa Claus March, which will set off from Copernicus Square on December 6 and wander the streets of Opole. Don’t miss it!
The fair will be open from Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 21:00 and from Friday to Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00. Due to the organization of the event from November 24, 2025 to January 7, 2026, entry to the Market Square from ul. Koraszewskiego will be closed.

As part of this year’s Christmas Fair, the First Student Art Fair “Arts for Table” will be held, scheduled for December 13-14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Plac Wolności 7/8 (after the former “Europa” confectionery shop). “Arts for the table” is a unique opportunity to get to know the work of young artists associated with the Faculty of Art of the University of Opole. During the fair, visitors will be able not only to view and purchase works, but also meet their authors and support the local artistic community.
