Good morning. The condemnation of the State Attorney General continues to dominate the political news and will also be a cause for confrontation this Wednesday in the control session of Congress, where the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, faces the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Likewise, the prosecutor proposed to replace the attorney general, Teresa Peramato, is also a cause of confrontation between the Government, which considers her an “absolutely suitable” person for the position, and the PP, which, on the contrary, considers her “continuist” and the “absolute trust” of Álvaro García Ortiz.
The plenary session of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) will rule this Wednesday on the proposed appointment of Peramato. As reported by the CGPJ, the governing body of the judges will thus comply with the hearing procedure established in the Spanish Constitution and in the Organic Law of the Judiciary.
In addition, the regional secretary of the President’s Cabinet and Communication of the Valencian Generalitat, José Manuel Cuenca, appears as a witness before the Catarroja judge who is investigating the case for the management of the dana. This is the first senior official from the work group closest to Carlos Mazón in the Presidency of the Generalitat summoned to testify.
