MMA fighter causes serious incident on Ryanair flight and is detained in Gran Canaria

An MMA fighter was detained at Gran Canaria airport after experiencing moments of great tension on board a Ryanair plane bound for Dublin. Sinead Kavanagh, 39, caused disturbances before take-off, leading the commander to interrupt the procedure and request the intervention of the Civil Guard.

According to information released by the local press, the athlete maintained an aggressive attitude even after authorities entered the aircraft. During his attempt to control the situation, he ended up attacking two officers, causing them injuries that forced both to seek medical leave.

Despite the resistance offered, the arrest was eventually carried out and Kavanagh was taken to the airport facilities, where she spent the night in a detention room. The following day, she was released under an identity and residence permit, pending the investigation by the Spanish authorities.

The incident caused flight delays and generated concern among passengers, who witnessed the episode of violence already inside the cabin.
