Former national president of PT, the senator (PE) minimized the absence of the presidents of , (Republicanos-PB), and , (União Brasil-AP), at the sanctioning ceremony for those who earn up to R$5,000.
Alcolumbre and Motta decided not to attend the event amid friction with the government. The president of the Senate was unhappy with the (Supreme Federal Court), while Motta demonstrated, especially with regard to the resources of the Federal Police.
For Costa, the absence does not diminish the importance of the event. “Today’s session was one of the most important economic measures that Brazil has achieved in recent years,” he said. “We are starting to build a path towards tax justice in the country, because this is just the beginning.”
He endorses the assessment of Minister Fernando Haddad (Finance), that the expansion of the exemption makes the “upstairs” contribute to facing the process of development and stability in Brazil.
“The absence of the presidents of the Chamber and the Senate, in no way, diminishes the importance of this here. Especially because I think that, from the point of view of what this represents, these divergences are minor things”, he stated.
