According to the Executive, the text provides greater legal certainty, transparency and predictability for the execution of social assistance actions. The project, approved by 50 votes in favor and 13 against, goes to the governor for approval.
“The state of São Paulo takes a historic step. It is mature legislation, built on technical criteria and which consolidates rights by strengthening municipal networks, state governance and shared responsibility”, says the Secretary of Social Development, Andrezza Rosalém.
For her, the measure was a demand expected for years by managers, workers and users of the area. “Social assistance could no longer operate without a robust legal framework. The project puts São Paulo on another level of public management, which brings security to those who execute it and, above all, improves the quality of care for those who need it most”, she states.
