Social psychologist Cida Bento debuts this Thursday (27) at CasaFolha, launched by Sheet last year. The nine videos from his course on diversity and anti-racism are now available on the website.

Considered one of the most influential voices in the world in the field of diversity, she discusses racial discrimination in Brazil and presents different practices that can help change the inequality scenario.

“Milton Nascimento has a line that I really like. He says: ‘I hope I’m at my best and I meet you at your best’. When I work with this topic of whiteness, racial and gender relations, I hope to be careful enough so that people stay together”, says Cida na.

With a PhD in psychology from USP, she is the author of books such as “Social Psychology of Racism” and “The Pact of Whiteness”, both relevant in debates on inequality.

With its debut, CasaFolha has 31 exclusive courses led by great personalities in different areas, such as former minister Pedro Malan, , Monja Coen, , filmmaker José Padilha, , and psychoanalyst Vera Iaconelli, .

In the course of , inequality in Brazil is debated from different angles. The specialist deals with topics such as the myth of racial democracy and the pact of whiteness, in addition to suggesting anti-racist practices in education and companies and talking about the contribution of white people.

In the country, Cida also points out some advances made in recent decades, many of which with the participation of Ceert (Center for the Study of Labor Relations and Inequalities), an entity that she founded and of which she is currently an advisor.

“In this course, I seek to address the experience and learning that I have had throughout my life. At least 35 years within Ceert, working with organizations, seeking to diagnose and verify which processes need to be changed within the institution so that it becomes more equitable, more diverse.”

Graduated in social psychology, Cida worked in companies, with selection, training and promotion. From her experience in the human resources area, a question arose: if there were no rules that prevented women and black people from holding senior positions, why are people in leadership almost always white men?

His master’s and doctorate sought clues about this question, as did subsequent research. Its goal is to draw people’s attention to the problems of inequality and the benefits of diversity.

Optimistic, Cida states in CasaFolha: “The seeds will blossom. The day will dawn. We will build a democratic society. There is no other way.”
