The case put Kempten in the news. The councilors of this discreet city of Germany they believe that internal control mechanisms do not work and want a thorough investigation to avoid similar processes in the future.
Even the president of the City Council, Thomas Kiechlereacted: he is clearly worried. And he announced that there will indeed be an in-depth investigation; the internal commission of inquiry has already started.

The “detour” was made by a municipal employee and for your wife. A detour that lasted a long period of time – he doesn’t reveal how long – and which managed to raise so much money, always through parking ticket machines.
The employee in question was responsible for emptying machines vending machine. Used this function to divert coins 720 times – to ultimately raise a total of more than 1 million euros.
Suspicions only began to arise because of a banco. Bank officials detected deposits in cash, with an abnormal frequency, in several of the couple’s accounts.
The bank then presented a report of suspicious activity due to possible money laundering.
The police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office followed the lead and detained the 40-year-old man and the 38-year-old woman. Both are in pre-trial detention. The man is being held for robbery; the woman for complicity.
