Moraes tells Bolsonaro to explain Nikolas’ use of cell phones on a visit

According to Moraes, the parliamentarian’s visit was authorized, but the use of cell phones was prohibited

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered Jair Bolsonaro’s defense to explain, within 24 hours, the use of a cell phone by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) during a visit to the former president on November 21, when he was still under house arrest.

According to Moraes, the parliamentarian’s visit was authorized, but the use of cell phones was prohibited. The measure is valid for the former president and visitors.

The alleged use of the device was caught by media outlets and was also denounced by congresswoman Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP), who sent a criminal report against Nikolas to the Supreme Court.

“Jair Messias Bolsonaro’s regularly appointed lawyers should be summoned so that, within 24 hours, they can comment on the entry and use of a cell phone during the visit carried out by Nikolas Ferreira, despite the express judicial prohibition”, Moraes decided.

Bolsonaro is currently serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison in a room located at the Federal Police Superintendence (PF), in Brasília. The penalty was defined in the criminal action for the coup plot.
