Owner of Espetto Carioca, Mané and Boteco Seu Rufino buys Sirène for R$ 14 million

The Impettus group, from the Espetto Carioca and Mané and Boteco Seu Rufino franchises, has just acquired the Sirène fish & chips chain for R$14 million. The acquisition seeks to strengthen the company’s diversification strategy by adding its first seafood brand to the group’s portfolio.

The company’s projections are that Sirène will double its revenue by 2026, to R$45 million. The agreement guarantees the Impettus Group a 60% stake in the company, incorporating its 16 units in operation in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás.

Today, the turnover of the group that also owns the Carioca Foods and OMG industries has an annual turnover of R$250 million. Just the addition of Sirène should add another R$17 million in 2025. With current operations, Impettus has around 100 operations throughout Brazil — by 2026, the number should reach 150 units.

The expansion of the Sirène brand begins in Rio de Janeiro, the city where the holding company was born. There will be 15 new stores of the recently acquired brand in the capital and in municipalities in the metropolitan region at first — the first four units will be launched by 2026. Afterwards, the focus will shift to the Northeast region, where the group’s presence is currently smaller.

“The brand has a striking personality, admired and respected in the sector. We saw in Sirène enormous growth potential and a natural fit with our operating model. It complements our portfolio with a differentiated menu and an authentic positioning”, says Bruno Gorodicht, co-founder and partner of the Impettus Group.

In Sirène’s first steps under new management, the idea is to standardize the operation, modernize processes and strengthen delivery, as well as update the design of the units and improve the menus. “Our role is to provide structure and scale without losing the essence. We want to maintain the spirit of Sirène, but with more efficiency, technology and network support”, explains Gorodicht.

In the medium term, the group plans to create an industrial area dedicated to the production of its own seafood inputs, inspired by the models of Carioca Foods and OMG — industrial arms of the Impettus Group that supply other brands in the portfolio.

“Sirène’s arrival opens up a new ocean of possibilities within the group”, adds Bruno. “We want to expand our presence in new geographies and categories, without losing the bar DNA that is at the heart of our brands. It is a step that consolidates the Impettus Group as the largest group of bars and restaurants in Brazil.”

Since 2019, the group has gone through a sequence of acquisitions that started with Momento Bendito, went through Boteco Mané and Boteco Seu Rufino.
