The State Sanitary Inspectorate carried out an inspection, as a result of which it was detected exceeding the permissible level of pesticide in millet flour. The manufacturer has been informed of this and is working with the distributor to clarify the situation.
The State Sanitary Inspection discovered that in one batch of millet flour from the “TAR-GROCH-FIL” distributor, the chlorpyrifos level was exceeded. Therefore, inspection authorities monitor the withdrawal of batches from sale, but some people may have already purchased this product – GIS warns against consuming it.
Chlorpyrifos is toxic to humans. Its consumption may negatively affect the functioning of the nervous system. Eating very large amounts of this pesticide can even lead to death. People who purchased the unlucky batch should not use it – such a product can be returned to the store (for a refund) or thrown away.
