SP reactivates more than 8 thousand beds; increase of almost 20% in hospitalizations

The Government of São Paulo announced, this Thursday (27), that it reactivated 8 thousand beds in the state health network. With the reactivation of areas and the reopening of beds, an increase in almost 20% in hospitalizations in the last 12 monthswith an increase of 380 thousand records, when compared to 2022.

According to state management, the expansion helps to reduce queues and increase the number of visits to health units. One of the programs that made this expansion possible was ‘SUS Paulista table’.

The SUS Paulista Table has expanded the number of hospitalizations and given more predictability to the system, which translates into more surgeries, more procedures and better care for those in need.

The ‘Table SUS Paulista’ is a program that complements amounts paid by the federal table and allows you to expand surgeries, hospitalizations and various procedures. Until August this year, more than R$7.5 billion were destined for the saints casas and SUS partner entities.

The Nossa Senhora Mãe da Divina Providência Hospital, in Jaci, increased the number of admissions from around 2,000 in 2022 to 2,660 last year, after the reactivation of beds.
