Scottish punk rock designer Pam Hogg, who collaborated with stars such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga, died on Wednesday at the age of 66. Her family announced it on social networks, TASR writes, according to the report of the AFP agency.
“He leaves behind a magnificent legacy that will continue to inspire us, bring joy and challenge us to live beyond the conventional rules.” her family wrote, saying that her “creative spirit and works have touched the lives of many people of all ages.”
The family did not state the cause of death. however, she thanked the staff at the East London hospice. Hogg spent her last moments surrounded by friends and family. With her futuristic designs, daring hairstyles and extravagant outfits, Hogg was an iconic figure at London Fashion Week. Her work combined irony, feminism and elements of the so-called counterculture, which deviated from the mainstream form of culture.
She was born in the Scottish town of Paisley, known mainly for its clothing industry. In her youth, she studied in Glasgow and at London’s Royal College of Art (RCA). She presented her first collection in 1981 and was sometimes compared to another popular British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood. She died in December 2022 at the age of 81.
