Less than a year before one sparkling wine cellar in Burgenland celebrates its grand opening – Schlumberger has moved production to Müllendorf – another filed for bankruptcy in December 2024; A-Nobis. The previous year, the state of Burgenland bought 195,000 bottles of raw sparkling wine from A-Nobis through the Burgenland Business Agency for around 800,000 euros – in order to keep the company liquid. According to the original idea, the raw sparkling wine should have been sold back to A-Nobis three years later. The company’s insolvency put a stop to this. It wasn’t just the opposition who gloated over the story and saw it as proof of the failure of Doskozil’s understanding of economics.
