US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said today that US President Donald Trump has requested 500 additional troops be sent to Washington, DC.
“We’re going to make D.C. safe,” Hegseth told reporters. “Trump will never give up.”
The secretary also described the attack on the military as “cowardice”.

It has been going on for months, fueling a legal dispute and a broader public policy debate over the Trump administration’s use of the military to combat what authorities consider an out-of-control crime problem. More than 300 Guard members were deployed to Washington in August.
